The Boulder Valley Unified School District partnered with SolarCity to meet their sustainability goals. They recently developed a Sustainability Management System and have launched several "greenBVSD" initiatives.
This 1.4-megawatt project will generate significant energy cost savings over the next 20 years and brings their total number of solar-powered schools to 30, which is more than half of the District's buildings.
The system also delivers key environmental benefits in addition to the financial rewards. The District will eliminate over 110 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions annually. That's the equivalent of taking roughly 300 cars off Colorado roads each year.
