MILFORD, Connecticut — SolarCity® (NASDAQ: SCTY), America’s #1 solar power provider, is expanding its Connecticut presence with a new, 16,000 square foot operations center in Milford. State Senator Gayle Slossberg and Milford Mayor Benjamin G. Blake were on hand to help celebrate the growth of solar and clean energy in the region. The Milford operations center is SolarCity’s second in the state, and the company expects there to be approximately 100 people working from the facility when fully staffed.
SolarCity makes it possible for many Connecticut homeowners, businesses, commercial enterprises and municipalities to install solar with no upfront cost and pay as much as 20 percent less by going solar than they pay for utility power, with installation, production guarantee and monitoring included. SolarCity also offers customers the option to purchase solar systems upfront.
The new SolarCity operations center creates new solar jobs for the area. This expansion helps push the company’s total projected Connecticut workforce to more than 450. With more than 30 staff already in place, the company is actively hiring for open positions in sales, installation and related roles. The company will service residential and commercial customers primarily in Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield counties from the location.
