More than 100 homes in Glen Burnie will feature SolarCity systems, lock in low energy costs for homeowners for the next two decades
Feb 03, 2015

Glen Burnie, Md., – Brookfield Residential has teamed up with SolarCity (Nasdaq: SCTY) to offer 119 solar townhomes in their new Oakview Village community. The three-level townhomes will produce their own clean energy to help homeowners pay less for solar electricity than they pay for utility bills. Townhome owners will benefit from steady solar power electricity rates for the next twenty years to protect them from fluctuating utility power costs, and SolarCity will provide insurance, monitoring service and repair service on the solar systems.

Clean, more affordable energy is just one part of the homebuilder’s Brookfield Blue® Program. Brookfield Blue homes include a variety of energy efficient features and allow for customers to choose from a menu of green options to further enhance their new home.  Priced from the $200,000's, these garage townhomes are available with special financing, low monthly payments and little money down.

“In addition to providing comfortable, low-maintenance and energy-efficient homes, we now offer homes that produce their own clean energy and ensure steady electricity rates for years,” said Gregg Hughes, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Brookfield Residential Washington DC Metro Division.  "We are dedicated to providing the best possible experience for our homeowners, so adding affordable and reliable solar power at our Oakview Village community was a no-brainer.”

The community is located in Anne Arundel County, which provides up to a $2,500 tax credit to homeowners who install solar – an added benefit and cost savings for potential Oakview Village homeowners. Oakview Village offers great access to Baltimore and Washington D.C., and is close to great dining and shopping options.

Interested homeowners can visit the Oakview Village Sales center, open daily and located in Gambrills, for information and to learn more about this solar community.  View floorplans, photos and check out other Brookfield Residential neighborhoods online at brookfielddc.com.
