Commercial Project Manager
Operations
The Commercial Project Manager is fully responsible for the oversight and management of the project cycle for a Commercial PV project within a given Region. This includes: project planning including defining schedule and budgets which meet contract requirements; oversight of the design process through plan-check and permitting; defining elements of work and soliciting bids for subcontracted work where necessary; providing direction and supervision of all field activities related to the physical construction; managing the project budget, cash flow and schedule through the project cycle; oversight of the data management for all project data flows; oversight for all quality and safety requirementson the project; materials and equipment planning and requisition; and planning/management for all general conditions requirements to successfully install the project on-time and within budget, while maintaining required levels for quality and safety. He or she reports to, and carries out the direction of, the Regional Operations Director relative to their assigned project(s) in the Region. Position may require frequent travel throughout the region where the position will be based, and could include overnight stays of up to a week at a time.
Responsibilities
- Manage the project cycle for commercial PV Projects.
- Participate in design, process, and permit submittal.
- Oversee all field teams and installation progress.
- Define elements of work and develop scope of work for subcontracts.
- Manage bid process for subcontracted work.
- Develop and manage project budgets.
- Develop and manage project schedule using MS Project.
- Arrange, schedule and conduct key project meetings.
Requirements
- Education: BS/BA in engineering, architecture, or construction related discipline.

5-10 years of construction related experience.

3-5 of that in PV Solar industry experience.

Knowledge of commercial construction including practices and sequence of work.

In-depth knowledge of commercial PV installations, and wiring configurations.

Knowledge of construction contracts and subcontracts.

Familiar with building electrical systems and primary service entries.

Proven ability to manage budgets and schedules.

Ability to manage matrixed project teams.

Experience as a Project Manager on commercial scale construction projects leading a project team.

In-depth knowledge of defining elements of work for subcontracting and managing the development of scope of work agreements.

Experience developing construction plans for commercial projects of medium to large size.

Knowledge of major PV components (PV Modules, inverters and racking systems preferred.

Certifications: NABCEP; additionally, Certified Project Manager (CPM) certification preferred.
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, comfortably lift 40+ pounds repetitively, and must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
