Solar Utility Administrator - PV Incentives
Asset Management

The Utility Administrator (Rebates and Incentives) will be responsible for processing and securing utility rebates and other incentives for each allocated project. This requires coordination with a broad audience, including customers, public utility companies, external administering bodies, and internal stakeholder groups such as Solar Consultants, Engineers and Project Managers.

Ensuring that the rebate is secured requires a significant amount of paperwork, retrieval and coordination of information, relationship management, awareness and tracking of deadlines and milestones, and attention to detail.

Employees who are successful in this role are proactive, curious, ask questions, use common sense, exist on the extreme end of the organizational spectrum, enjoy paperwork and filing, get a great amount of job satisfaction from submitting applications without any errors, take pride of ownership over the quality and accuracy of their work, pay attention to detail, and notice things no one else would. It also helps if you can get along with a bunch of similarly minded people, pull your own weight and help out when needed.

  • Liaise with solar sales representatives and utility companies to determine the optimal rebate amount for processing.

  • Manage incentive claims requests for rebates.
  • Research utility companies’ policies to ensure compliance, accurate tracking and maintenance of Customer Rebate List.
  • Maintain filing/document management system for electronic and paper documents.
Requirements

  • Better-than-your-average-person’s organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task and switch from one task to another with ease.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, escalating where necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, and remain positive under stress.
  • Self-starter who can work independently, has good follow-through and takes direction well.
  • Extremely proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to deal with a large amount of information in an organized way to achieve results.
  • Has a strong aptitude for working with numbers, spreadsheets and reports.
  • Ability to understand the technical aspects of solar power as they relate to rebates and incentives.
