Site Auditor Assistant - Energy Efficiency
Operations
The Energy Efficiency Assistant Site Auditor will help the lead Energy Efficiency Site Auditor provide professional residential energy efficiency audit and building analysis services that include:
· Conducting blower door, duct blaster, combustion safety and CAZ tests.
· Develop scopes of work that include weatherization and HVAC measures to save energy and improve comfort, health and safety.
· Enter data into software programs and creating reports.
Responsibilities
· Develop a positive relationship with customers to establish rapport and to gather house data and measurements.
· Conduct Home Performance with Energy Star style test in and test out audits, including blower door, duct blaster, infrared camera, combustion safety and CAZ tests.
· Conduct visual site audit taking measurements, gathering data, and taking digital photos.
· Enter test results and site data into software programs to generate reports.
· Test out homes and conduct quality control inspections post job to verify satisfactory work completion.
Requirements
· A minimum of three (3) years experience in a discipline related to construction or building sciences; estimating or site auditing experience is preferred.
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills required in order to prepare documents and interact with customers.
· Ability to understand, read, and comprehend contract documents, plans and specifications; ability to stay organized and maintain project records.
· The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to develop basic formulas typically used and commuted in the construction industry; ability to use formulas to develop spreadsheets as needed and used by SolarCity.
· Strong proficiency with computers and various applications including MS Office and ability to learn SolarCity proprietary software.
· The ability to read plans, specifications, diagrams, equipment submittals, and material data sheets.
· Knowledge of site surveying, construction sequencing, construction methods and materials practices; knowledge of residential electrical systems.
· Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
· Ability to work in attics and crawlspaces safely.
· Familiar with construction change orders.
· Good knowledge of basic residential electrical.
· Some knowledge of basic HVAC installation and code.
· Effectively work with others and to be part of a team.
· Able to lift 50+ lbs
· Valid and active driver’s license with clean driving record.
· All candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment background, driving, and drug screen.
Additional Information
· High School or Trade School degree in a discipline related to construction or building sciences; college degree in relevant field is preferred.
· Graduate of Clean Energy Works Oregon approved training provider
· BPI certifications in Building Analyst, Envelope Professional preferred.
· PTCS Duct Sealing certification preferred.
· BPI certifications in Heating Professional preferred.
· Familiarity with Energy Trust of Oregon weatherization specifications manual.
· Lead based paint renovator training and certification preferred.
· Familiar with OSHA safety requirements. OSHA 10 hr preferred.
· Previous weatherization or insulation experience preferred.
· Knowledge of HVAC installation and building performance.
· Experience operating electric and/or gas insulation blowing machines preferred.
· Experience installing blown in wall insulation in existing homes preferred.
