America’s solar leader believes in diversity and inclusion.

We believe that different perspectives power ideas and innovation, and enable sustainable success for everyone. We actively develop career paths and remove barriers to create a safe space for everyone’s voice to be heard.

The importance of diversity.

“At SolarCity we value transparency, mutual respect, and understanding. We firmly believe that great ideas can come from anywhere and anyone in our organization, and that greater diversity leads to greater innovation, better collective performance and more sustainable growth. Diversity and inclusion are integral to every aspect of our business and essential to our success.

SolarCity is addressing the world’s most significant energy challenge— the need for more sustainable energy production. The broad range of individuals in our workforce brings a diverse range of perspectives to problem solving, which ultimately leads to more effective solutions. Each person who works for SolarCity brings a unique life experience that can help us communicate the value of solar power.

Attracting, developing, and retaining employees who reflect the diversity of the world we live in is not only the right thing for the success of our employees, it’s the right thing for the success of our business.”

– Lyndon Rive, Co-Founder of SolarCity

Join our dedicated team.

We value diversity in all its forms, and we’re committed to fostering an inclusive workplace. Every one of our employees is dedicated to making solar energy a reality for more homes and are excited about the meaningful work they do. They have the opportunity to realize their full potential through the advantage of training and support developed with the individual in mind.

Veterans in solar.

SolarCity is a 2016 Military Friendly® Employer and proud to support our military employees and their families. As a founding recruiting partner of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Ready Vets program, SolarCity provides accelerated training to help place transitioning veterans into the solar work environment. We’re partnered with the White House’s Joining Forces initiative and have pledged to provide hiring and training to transitioning veterans and military spouses. We’ve made this commitment to hiring veterans and military spouses because their skills, attitude and character are a great fit for our mission to transform energy delivery for the 21st century.

Join an employee resource group.

We understand how important it is to be able to get together with other employees with similar life experiences. That’s why we’ve created the framework for employees to establish Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)—voluntary communities led by fellow employees that allow you to share ideas, build relationships and take advantage of mentorship opportunities. We believe that ERGs help ensure that SolarCity incorporates a wide variety of perspectives in our policies, practices and services. Following are our initial ERGs, and we look forward to more in the near future:

Women in Power

Women in Power inspires and amplifies the voices of SolarCity's women by sponsoring, supporting and connecting them. They help instill education, inclusion, collaboration, mentorship and empowerment to assist women in reaching their full career potential.

Powered by Pride

This group inspires and amplifies the voices of employees of all sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions. Powered by Pride helps drive awareness, fosters a welcoming environment and champions acceptance for all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions.

Juntos Adelante
