Ver en español | America’s #1 full-service solar provider now offers solar and battery storage services to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers in Mexico.
We’ve acquired ILIOSS, one of the largest C&I solar developers in Mexico, which now operates as an independent business unit of SolarCity. Together, we make it possible for many business and government organizations in Mexico to pay less for solar power than they pay for energy from utility companies.
We’ve got the capacity to do big things in Mexico considering our vast scale and U.S. network. Our industry-leading technology and integrated project development—combined with ILIOSS’s proven track record, strong product pipeline and knowledge of the local business environment—creates opportunities across the solar industry.
Together, we can better serve local commercial and industrial customers in Mexico and collaborate with U.S. entities operating there. Thanks to the combination of low module, labor and permitting costs in Mexico, we plan to offer solar power with similar savings to what we offer customers in the U.S.
Mexico represents a large growth opportunity for the solar industry. Due to high utility rates, favorable solar economics and abundant sunshine, C&I solar deployments are expected to total more than 1,000 MW of new installations by 2020. This would reflect an increase of more than 1,000% from 2014.
